Baby on the beach

It is okay to bring your baby to the beach.  She will benefit from seeing new things around her.  Here are a few reminders:

Health/Emergencies. Make sure that your baby is not ill.  A few days before the trip, bring your baby to her pediatrician for a check up.  Bring emergency medicines for fever, diarrhea, allergies and insect bites.

Safety. Keep an eye on your baby all the time.  Never leave her unattended.

Sun Care.  Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher in a milky lotion or cream formulation.  Before using a sunscreen, test it on baby’s skin by placing a small amount on the underside of her forearm.

Hydration.  Give her lots of fluids to drink.

Skin care. Rinse your baby’s hair and skin as soon as she gets out of the water to minimize skin irritation.
